Esther (Gefei) Liu

I am Esther Liu, a second-year Master’s student in Computer Science at Brown University. I am fortunate to work with Prof. Serena Booth and Prof. Michael Littman at Brown and Prof. Elena L. Glassman at Harvard. Before joining Brown, I completed my Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Data Science with a minor in Statistics and a diploma in Korean.

My research interests lie at the intersection of NLP and HCI, particularly in how to enable effective human-AI complementarity. My current work spans benchmarking and evaluating LLMs (e.g., Sci2Pol), human-AI decision-making (e.g., AI Safety via Debate is Compromised by Cognitive Biases), and interactive system design.

Outside of research, I enjoy learning languages 🇰🇷🇪🇸🇭🇰 and music 🎹 🎸🎤.
